Today’s PhD Comics strip is a pretty apt description of the state of my current dissertation chapter. Except perhaps the “it works” part…
I finally finished that blue petticoat about a month ago! I haven’t had a chance to wear it (with Photo Finish or otherwise), but I did loan it to a friend who teaches at a middle school to wear on Crazy Hair and Clothing Day. I may have also loaned her a wig. She had a good time. 😀
Stay tuned for a post about my next project! (And no, Jocasta’s not done, but what fun is it only having one project going at once?)
A quick shot of Jocasta-in-progress. I actually have the skirt and black undershirt finished as well, but didn’t have them on for this picture.
Thanks to my sister’s roommate for loaning me the belt; I’m going to be the most stylish Jedi on Coruscant!
In other news, I learned recently that the Ansata, the funky geometrical designs on her long drapey-things (whooo, sewing terminology!) are embroidered on. Still trying to decide how much I value my sanity. At the very least I’m going to do a test – the fabric is a bit stretchy, so even with backing it might not work out. In which case, paint! We’ll see.
P.S. Sewed this together with Sergei.
I tried to make a GIF combining this image with a picture of the rifle drying (I painted it with resin last night and it has to cure for at least 24 hours), but Photoshop/Illustrator have defeated me, so just imagine there’s a picture of the rifle here?
